Will someone lose their salvation if they commit terrible sins is a question asked by a listener recently. She wondered about people who claimed to be a Christian as a child, but later committed terrible crimes like murder, rape, child abuse, etc.

“So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.” (James 2:17 NLT)
“Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.” (Psalm 115:3 ESV)
“I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.” (Matthew 5:18 NLT)
“So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12 ESV)
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13 ESV)
