Carolyn and I have owned real estate since our first year of marriage. The value of our first home went up about 20% in the first year. We made a killing. (See a picture of our first house HERE.)

But other times we have not been so blessed. The Great Recession hit hard. We still haven’t fully recovered. Ouch!
However, I want to share with you a way to make a killing in real estate, 100% guaranteed.
Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” (John 14:2-4 ESV)
Don’t you love it: a forever dream home guaranteed by Jesus Christ!
In the first verse of that chapter Jesus begins by saying, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.”
When our real estate values came crashing down, my heart was troubled, depressed, and distraught. If our focus is on the material things in life on earth, the truth is that everything eventually disappoints: health deteriorates, friends and family die, stuff rusts and decays, the memory of championships fade.
Just think about the following:
Earthly real estate:
Is temporary.We don’t really own it.Its value is mercurial.
Heavenly real estate:
Is forever.Our family (God’s) will always own it.Its value never drops.
It’s a killer deal!
Perhaps 99% of the population have no grasp of how wonderfully incredible our heavenly home will be.
Too many people think heaven will be
boring
interminably long
no fun
I think the devil has deceived us.
Here is what God’s Word promises: “He will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain. These things of the past are gone forever. Then the one sitting on the throne said: I am making everything new. Write down what I have said. My words are true and can be trusted.” (Revelation 21:4-5 CEV)
Did you catch it?
No tears
No death
No suffering
No crying
No pain
God promises heaven will be the paradise we all long for: complete joy, no problems, all happiness, no sickness, no pain, just everything good about the world and none of the bad.
Do you want this? Here’s how to get in on the real estate deal of the century, err…make that eternity: “Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:5a-6 ESV)
The way is Jesus, the one and only way. Get Him and you get heaven.
