I grew up thinking that our church was the right one and that the other churches in our area were messed up. My answer to the question “Which denomination is right?” was certainly MINE! Later I learned that it was me who was messed up. While there are certainly churches that have abandoned Christ, there are many more that follow The Way.
I’ve really changed on this question: Which denomination is right? In fact, earlier today I attended a pastor’s fellowship with leaders of various churches and ministries in our area. I love to see the different families within the family of God!
Can we say “this denomination is right” or “that denomination is right” or that one group is better than another?
In this podcast I answer those questions.
Here are some of the Bible verses that I reference in this podcast to help answers “Which denomination is right?”:
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV)
“Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” (Acts 17:11 ESV)
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” (Matthew 7:15 ESV)
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15 ESV)
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV)
In this podcast I also state that the best policy is following God’s Word and living by this motto:
In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity
UNITY:
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:12–13 ESV)
LIBERTY:
“One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” (Romans 14:5 ESV)
CHARITY:
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” (Colossians 3:14 ESV)
